Part time, 65% of regular full time employment, temporary employment for 3 years (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG) in the planned project “Steer”. Doctoral studies given.
Research in the area of analysis of Institutions and Governance in intersectoral coordination in river basin management (Nexus Governance) as part of the third party funded project STEER (Steering competence for achieving the aims of integrated water management). The project will be undertaken by the Section on International Agricultural Policy and Environmental Governance of the University of Kassel, in collaboration with the University of Osnabrück, the German Institute for Development Research DIE-GDI and Ecologic and other partners worldwide. Tasks: coordination of the work package concerning comparative analysis of nexus governance in five case studies, development of a conceptual and methodological framework, collaboration and development of indicators for measuring the performance of governance, execution of the Spanish case study (Gathering of primary and secondary data in the Guadalquivir basin), coordination of stakeholder workshops in Spain. The project provides for the opportunity to obtain a Ph.D. degree.
Concluded, scientific studies in the social sciences and on a related topic(e.g. agricultural sciences, economics, political sciences, geography, environmental management), good knowledge of and interest in agricultural, environmental and resource economics; environmental policy and water policy, knowledge of institutional analysis and interdisciplinary socialecological systems research, fluent in English (orally and in writing). Desirable: fluent in Spanish, good command of German, good knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods of social science research, organisation skills, flexibility, ability to work under pressure. Experience with project work.
